江ノ電鎌倉ビル（市内御成町）１階の「江ノ電鎌倉名店街」が改装工事を終え、８店舗による複合型施設「ことのいち鎌倉」としてリニューアルオープンした。３月22日に完成レセプションが行われ、プレオープンとして江ノ電鎌倉駅を利用する地元住民や観光客に披露された。江ノ電鎌倉ビルは１９８３年８月に竣工。１階部分の「江ノ電鎌倉名店街」は、改札口内外から買い物ができたこともあり、近隣住民や観光客から広く利用されてきた。名店街を運営する江ノ電商事（株）によると、開業から約30年という歳月が経過したことや近年の観光客の増加、今年６月に可否が決定する「武家の古都・鎌倉」の世界遺産登録への機運が高まっていることなどを受け、昨年12月末に施設を閉鎖し、今年１月初旬から改装工事を行っていた。新装された「ことのいち鎌倉」には８店舗が入り、駅改札内でのみ利用できる。「セブンイレブン」が新たに入り、以前ニュークイック内にあった「駿河屋本舗」（鎌倉コロッケ）が単独で出店する。２００平方メートルの敷地内には「豊島屋」（鳩サブレー）、「井上蒲鉾店」（かまぼこ）、「マミフーズ」（鎌倉ハム）、「アマルフィイドルチェ」（洋菓子）、「鎌倉ほしの」（和菓子）が並び、構内に別棟で建っていた江ノ電グッズショップも施設内に移転した。同社では「鎌倉物産にこだわった店舗・商品の展開」としている。各店舗とも、全国の交通系ＩＣカードを使用しての支払いができる。改装前からよく利用しているという坂ノ下在住の三留昭代さん（52）は「コンビニができて便利になった」と話し、由比ガ浜在住の女性（40）は、「乗降客の往来を気にせず、落ち着いて買い物できる」と感想を話した。同社の平塚克規社長（63）は「江ノ電鎌倉駅の、１日約２万人の乗降客をいかにして取り込んでいくか。今後、商品の精査、改善に一生懸命努力していきたい」と話した。営業時間は午前10時から午後７時まで。セブンイレブンは午前７時から午後８時まで。
